Combat Patrol, Vicinity of Maxwell Field. Followed by defence of the Saigon embassy from armed student revolutionaries.

Screenshots and After-Action Reports

As part of our orientation for Camp Maxwell, 1st Platoon was tasked to investigate reports of insurgent Cheltcong forces. The locations were two locations to the North, a village close to the airstrip, a hill overlooking the base and to the south, a lagoon and the island harbour.

Cpl Snowman and Cpl Kiwi decided that investing the village and hilltop to the north would be done first and circle down to the lagoon and harbour after resupplying if required. Reaching the village we saw no indication of insurgent forces but upon leaving the village we were met with pockets of resistance, mostly poorly armed. We eliminated these forces with overwhelming fire and grenades. Upon reaching the hilltop we were ambushed by prepared defences. 1st platoon eliminated these forces and destroyed the ammo dump with thermite. 1st platoon then proceeded back to Maxwell base where we were met by a lorry to bring us in. Having resupplied at stores, we proceeded to the lagoon. 1st platoon took up position north of the lagoon and again laid down overwhelming fire. We moved to the east of the lagoon, locating an enemy camp. Having eliminated the camp occupants the camp was destroyed using timed explosives. 1st platoon then moved to our last objective. Whilst on the outskirts of the harbour village we were receiving fire from a small element of insurgent forces. 1st platoon held position till this element was destroyed. We received a radio report from command that Cheltcong forces were launching an attack on the beach west of the harbour village and that elements of base defence were engaged and suffering losses. 1st platoon proceeded to meet this force and launched a counter-assault along the beach. With the threat neutralised, 1st platoon were airlifted from the beach back to Maxwell. Having rearmed, the Colonel said we were to proceed to the US embassy in Saigon as it was under attack from armed students and that the life of the ambassador was in danger. 1st platoon proceeded to Saigon. Upon reaching Saigon, the chopper was hit by small arms fire which caused instrument failure. Blitz managed to put the chopper down with only minor injuries to the occupants though the helicopter was damaged beyond repair. 1st platoon proceeded through the city to the embassy where we eliminated the armed forces. It is with regret that Cpl Kiwi reports the death of the ambassador and his bodyguards. Upon reflection of the situation and given the damage to the embassy I can only summarise that the ambassador and his unit were overcome by enemy fire.

Let's all take a leisurely stroll around the island he said what could go wrong he said.

That right there is some say shady as hell CIA IDAP shit and we didn't see nothing.

Maybe we need to look at how we recon hilltops again.

For an island that we own there sure are a lot of chelts here. Also my voice to text understands the word chelt.

We went to the beach by the docks and found the world's supply of bastards then we had a gun fight with them; with our local friends helping. we won.

Sure could use a machine gun about now.
